Prepare perfect toaties in this cast iron toastie pan. With a diagonal division just like an electric toastie maker, this pan has a long handle to make cooking easier, so you just lightly oil the surface, put your sandwich in the pan, clamp it shut with the lock, and toast for the best toasted sandwiches. But do remember that cast iron gets very hot, and the toastie pan will need to be turned frequently within the flames for a nice even colour.
Greasing the pan with a little oil or butter beforehand will also stop the contents from sticking. Please wash before first use and, after that, treat as you would any piece of kitchen equipment. A light coating of oil after washing will help keep the cast iron in perfect condition if you’re planning on storing the pan for a long time.
Try cheese and ham, or cheese with onion, sausage, pineapple or tomato, or, for a delicious sweet snack, peanut butter and banana or chocolate spread.
Cast iron becomes very hot during use – please allow to cool before attempting to touch and use care when handling near flames. The fillings will also be very hot, so allow to cool for a few minutes before eating.
