A design classic – The remarkable Asadro Bacchus clay BBQ
Mexican chimineas are legendary, the best-functioning clay burners of all. If you’re into patio fires their structure and design, which has been tweaked to perfection over the centuries, means they’re the easiest to light as well as extremely efficient burners. Because the clay absorbs heat so well, then radiates it generously back out again, there’s no need to build a huge roaring blaze. Less is more, which means they’re very fuel-efficient.
We particularly like this hand made and hand painted one, as do our customers. Made in Mexico, the home of the chim, it is fun and quirky with a wonderful antique look about it, as though someone has just dug it up from an ancient archaeological site. Decorated with the face of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, and surrounded by a grape design, it’s a handsome item to grace any patio.
As you can imagine it looks fabulous outdoors in any type of garden, from contemporary to traditional, and it’s simplicity itself to assemble and use. Just unpack it, place it on its special stand – which doubles as a handy integral log store – then add the steel barbecue grill on top and you’re ready to fire her up. Delicious alfresco meats, fish and veg, here we come.
