Our steel chestnut roasting pan has a wooden handle instead of the metal one shown in the photo. This is to avoid burning your hands when it is is use! Otherwise it is exactly the same. We will update the image as soon as we have a new one.
So… this is how you make proper roast chestnuts. It’s a speciality chestnut pan designed for the purpose and it does a perfect job. Just be sure to make a cut on the flat side of the chestnuts before you roast them. The chestnuts should be roasted until their skin starts to go black and the yellow flesh is visible through the cut. Once they’re done, you’ll need to wait until they’re cool before peeling and eating them. This pan has a long handle and a heat-proof non-stick surface, both of which help you create perfectly roasted nuts.
There’s more. It has extra uses. You can always use it to cook foil-wrapped parcels of food over the flames.
Please wash it before the first use and bear in mind it’s designed to get very hot indeed during use. Always let it cool off before attempting to touch it, and always take great care around open flames. Other than that you’re ready to go create ‘delicious’!
